How to forgive & correct yourself, after a big mistake

“No matter how many mistakes we make or how slow we move in our career you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying to improve.”

Humm !!!  Mistakes….

We have all certainly made a few mistakes in our life & there’s nothing wrong to admit that we often screwed up, sometime so roughly. Most of the time it happens when we are so aggressive or emotional in our thoughts & speak something which is not appropriate.  However not to feel bad & we just need to figure out how to deal with such circumstances effectively.

First of all please understand that it’s not end of the world as due to some reason your behaviors was so bad or you messed up with someone, the important thing is to correct our mistakes & to take immediate action plan. Let’s look over few things below which may help to manage your position.

1.     Admit the fault & Apologize at earliest

The first step of getting over a mistake is to identifying the fault as there's no sense in bottling your sting. Once its known its always better to apologize for your slipup.  To be genuine there was a time when after my mistake I thought my life was over. I was a complete failure and nobody would respect me for the rest of my life. But then my inner energy forced me to use my intelligence to apologize & to move on in life.

2.     Reality Analysis & learning:

Not analyzing the shadows of your mistakes is terrible as it may not let you live in rest to your entire life, so you need to step back & run a deep analysis & to do a reality check so that you can learn a lesson & avoid such mistakes again in your future.

3.     Bring Some Humor

Someone has cleverly said that “laughing at your own mistakes can lengthen your life” & believe me it really make sense. Humor is actually a great medicine which helps you to forget about your mistake faster than anything else can.

This is by and far the most important footstep to forgiving yourself and getting on with your life.

In fact  it’s more than laughing; it’s being able to laugh directly at your mistake. Any person on Earth has the ability to laugh at someone else’s mess, but to laugh at your own mistakes – now that takes courage.

If you can laugh at your biggest failures you’ll have no trouble finding joy in all the other amazing parts of your life.

4.     Let Go

So you’ve accepted your mistake and took ownership for your faults, you’ve learnt some valuable lessons and even got a chuckle out of it.

Now what?
Let go.

There’s plenty to learn from our mistakes, but once we squeeze it dry it’s time to leave it behind so we can get on with our lives. “life is fulfilling only when we allow ourselves to let go and allow ourselves to be in the moment.”

Your life isn’t defined by your mistakes; you are not your mistakes.

5.     Decide to Moving Forward

It’s a very real thing that our greatest success comes after the most tragic of failures. You screwed up, and that’s okay, it happens to all of us.

But your life’s not over.

The faster you can forgive yourself and let go of your failures, the quicker you can focus on creating the most amazing life imaginable.

The funny thing about mistakes is they open our eyes to greater possibilities and allow us to reach heights we never before thought capable of ourselves. In a way, your big mistake may turn out to be the best thing that’s ever happened. J

Please share if you have recently made a mistake or experienced failure that’s affected your life. How did you get past it & what lessons you learn from it? We would love to hear your experience.
